Asaba, Delta State – September 26th – Anioma Sporting Football Club (ASFC) has revealed it is considering making the Stephen Keshi International Stadium in Asaba its official home ground.
The announcement signals the Club’s intent to root its identity in Anioma land while building on the legacy of one of Nigeria’s most iconic football arenas.
The Stephen Keshi Stadium, which has hosted top-tier matches including international friendlies and the African Athletics Championships, boasts modern facilities and a deep cultural significance. Anioma Sporting believes the venue could serve as the foundation for its long-term ambitions in Nigerian and African football.
Club President Henry Ogwu described the move as part of ASFC’s vision to connect with its community and give players a world-class platform.
“Anioma Sporting is committed to building a home that reflects our values of excellence, community, and ambition. The Stephen Keshi Stadium is more than a world-class facility – it is a symbol of Anioma pride and Nigerian football heritage. Talks are currently ongoing with the Delta State Government, Delta State Sports Commission, and other stakeholders about formalizing the arrangement.

Anioma Sporting FC has ambitious long-term goals, including the establishment of a youth academy with European pathways, development of a fan base rooted in Anioma identity, and positioning Delta State as a hub of football excellence in Nigeria.
